Virginia Petkova
Jungian Psychotherapist

Your Vision Will Become Clear Only When You Look Into Your Own Heart.
As each plant, each tree grows from a seed and becomes in the end, say, an oak tree, so man becomes what he is meant to be. At least, he ought to get there. But most get stuck by unfavorable external conditions, by all sorts of hindrances or pathological distortions, wrong education-no end of reasons why one shouldn't get there where one belongs. * Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Without, everything seems discordant; only within does it coalesce into unity. Who looks outside dreams; who looks inside awakes.**

About
My name is Virginia Petkova, and I am a Jungian psychotherapist, organisational psychologist, and the creator of original workshops in Jungian-oriented Culinary Art Therapy. I work in private practice in Sofia, offering psychotherapy and psychological counselling in Bulgarian, English, Spanish, and Russian.
My work is grounded in analytical psychology and focuses on the therapeutic dialogue, dream work, active imagination, symbolic processes through archetypal images and motifs in myths and fairy tales, creative expression and fantasy, as well as therapeutic sandplay. I have a particular interest in culinary psychology, which explores the relationship between food, memory, identity, and belonging. In my practice, Jungian psychology is integrated with creativity, culture, and symbolic experience through psychotherapy, experiential therapeutic workshops, and Culinary Art Therapy.
I completed my training in analytical psychology at the Bulgarian Society for Analytical Psychology C. G. Jung, affiliated with the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP). I obtained the right to practise under supervision in 2021, and in 2026 I completed my final certification as a Jungian psychotherapist. I am currently undertaking specialised training in culinary psychology at the University of Oxford.
Alongside my clinical work, I translate books and academic texts in the field of psychology from English and Spanish into Bulgarian through Forum Language Services. In addition to psychology, my professional background includes education and experience in engineering, international business, and management. This diverse professional and life experience helps me approach human difficulties from multiple perspectives.
Pure Focus Soul Kitchen expands my practice by creating a space for collaborative projects, bringing together psychotherapists, art therapists, and creative professionals in the fields of psychology, psychotherapy, and creativity. The website and blog of Pure Focus Soul Kitchen are currently available only in Bulgarian.
